If you are looking for something to do this week, why not head down to the Rocket Gallery to check out Merger: new minimal painting in dialogue with contemporary furniture design.
Featuring a European and American line-up of young artists and designers, including Richard Roth, Oliver King and Tom Lovegrove, the exhibition explores the beauty in minimalism and functionality – two areas often overlooked in the current art/design debate.
The artists and designers in this show share a common use of geometry, computer plotting, metal fabrication,wood joinery, and paint finishes. All explore a minimalist aesthetic – they pare their works down to the essentials.
